Robert Douglass Warner, 91, passed from this life, to eternal rest, on August 26, 2015 at Forest Hill Nursing Care, St. Clairsville, Ohio. He was born in Beaver Township, Noble County on September 5, 1923 to the late Edward C. and Mary (Douglass) Warner.
He was a devoted member of the Church of Christ, worshiping most of his life with the congregation at Quaker City. Robert spent his first 40 years working on the family farm. In the mid-1960s, he began a career as a Public Health Sanitarian; first, part-time in Monroe County; then full-time in Belmont County; and finally part-time in Noble County, retiring in 1999. Mr. Warner served several years on the Noble County Fair Board, ending in 1995. He was a member of the Ohio Association of Public Health Sanitarians and the Ohio Environmental Health Association.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his first wife - Betty (Dollison) Warner, whom he married on June 12, 1943 and who died in September 1996, and two sisters - an infant, Ruth Anna (1933) and Lena Lashley (2005).
Mr. Warner is survived by his second wife - Evelyn Jean Warner of Flushing, whom he married in April 1999; and his sons - Ronald (Susan Bates) Warner of Shallowater, Texas and Jon (Janie Flood) Warner of Quaker City; 4 grandchildren - Sarah (Scott) McDonald of Texas, Jessica Warner of Texas, Jason Warner of Quaker City, and Joni (Josh) Biedenbach of Sarahsville; 6 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Leonard (Jr.) Lashley of Sarahsville; one nephew and two nieces; and many wonderful friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015 from 4-8 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio where services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11 AM with Minister Kim McFarland officiating. Burial will follow at Friends Cemetery in Quaker City.
