Gladys Irene (Taylor) Marmie

Gladys Irene Marmie, 95, of Barnesville died Friday, October 9, 2015 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center.  Irene was born on August 17, 1920 in Belmont County to the late Harry Taylor and Laura (Rutter) Taylor Saffle.

Irene was a 1938 graduate of Somerton High School.  She was a member of the First Christian Church of Barnesville where she taught Sunday School for 60 years and was active in the Christian Women's Fellowship.  Irene was also a permanent voting member of the Barnesville Area Education Foundation.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Richard Marmie; two sisters; and one brother.

Irene is survived by two sons: Larry (Linda) Marmie of Tampa, Florida and Richard (Theresa) Marmie of Cambridge, Ohio; two daughters: Sharon (Thomas) Lantieri of Grove City, Ohio and Nancy (James) Thomson of Little Rock, Arkansas; five grandchildren: Vicki, Cozy, Larry, Jr., Amy and Seth; and ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 11:00am until the time of the service at 1:30pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio with Pastor Ed Eberhart officiating.  Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery.
