Heroes of Our Community Program
About The Program

The individuals who safeguard our communities hold a deeply valued place with us. Each day, they step away from their own families to serve others with unwavering commitment.
When a public safety professional dies in the line of duty, their funeral should uphold the dignity and appreciation they earned through their service—whether they served in law enforcement, fire protection, or emergency medical response.
We are dedicated to supporting and caring for your family, just as you dedicate yourselves to caring for ours.
What Does It Include?
At no cost to the family of a fallen first responder, we provide our services within Belmont County for either traditional burial or cremation. This includes a casket, memorial book, memorial folders, thank-you cards, and a memorial video. When a traditional burial is selected, Wilbert Funeral Services, Inc. donates a customized Wilbert Stainless Steel Triune® burial vault.
What Isn't Included?
Families are only responsible for cash advance items, such as cemetery plots, opening and closing fees, minister honorariums, death certificates, floral arrangements, and similar third-party expenses.
Who Is Included?
This program applies to any first responder who lives or serves in Belmont County and dies during an emergency response or as the result of a critical incident. These deaths are recognized as direct line-of-duty losses, occurring while they are carrying out their sworn responsibilities.
Services may be held at our Barnesville funeral home or at another location within Belmont County chosen by the family, such as a church, community center, school, or similar venue.
Do I Have to be Included?
No—there is no obligation to choose Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home. We simply want you and your family to be aware that this option is available. If you wish to be included, just inform your supervisor and your loved ones so that, should the need ever arise, they will understand your preferences and how to proceed.
