To the family of Virgil Danford, I grew up in the children's home when Mr. Danford worked there. He was a great man, he was like a father to many of the children there. He was a gentle giant. I saw his picture in the obituary's and wow the memories came rushing back. I just wanted to say what a great man Mr. Danford was and he will be missed not only by his family, but also by his extended family ( he helped guide along the way. ( the kids in the home). God Bless you Virgil. I will always remember all the good times growing up the childrens home, and having you as a kind and gentle giant. R.I.P my friend

Sorry to learn of your loss. I enjoyed visiting with Virgil whenever I could. I considered Virgil and Gladys good friends. Virgil always asked about my son, Matthew, who has been away from Barnesville for more than twenty years. A sweet gentleman.
