Ronald E. Saffield, 77, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 at his home. He was born on August 19, 1938 in Barnesville to the late Clarence Leroy "Punk" and Elizabeth Jane (Shepherd) Saffield.
Ronald is a veteran of the United States Navy. He was retired from AEP where he worked as a transmission supervisor.
Ronald was an avid toy soldier collector. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Not only will he be greatly missed by his family but also by his coffee drinking buddies.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded by a son, Eric D. Saffield.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Sandra (Fields) Saffield; children: Rhonda Pettini, Christina Chappell, and Nick Saffield; and grandchildren: Amber Jo Batross, Brandon Benson, Ryan Duvall, and Brenna Saffield; sister, Linda Chute of Sistersville, WV; nephew, John Chute; niece, Jennifer Candel; and his faithful companion, Cooper.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 1:00pm until the time of the service at 3:00pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio with Ron Hopkins officiating.
