Mrs Garrett was a very important part of my life growing up. She made my life at the home tolerable aways joking around hugging us and making sure we did our chores . She's has always been on my mind and in my heart all these years. My condolences and prayers for the family

Oleta was a dear friend back years ago to my grandma Hazel Howell. I remember her as always being kind and they shared a lot of laughter together whenever they were around each other. I always felt my name was odd and she was always very insistent that a unique name was good... She said people would remember you the girl with the different name. When I read this obituary I knew I had to share her advice because I do remember her because she had such a unique name as well. May she rest in peace.

To Oleta's family, We were blessed to know, worship with and be a neighbor to Oleta during our time in Ashland. What an infectious spirit of love and grace she possessed! Her love and care for others, her quiet manner of finding a way to bring "sunshine" to other's lives (i.e.-teddy bears) her love and care for family, the special relationship she had with Jessie, and too many other ways to include here.
