William R. Warfield, 90, of Jerusalem, Ohio passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at his home. He was born on November 18, 1931 in Barnesville to the late Silas T. and Marguerite (Richner) Warfield.
Bill was a 1949 graduate of Barnesville High School and enlisted as a Forward Observer in the United States Army stationed in Georgia and Oklahoma. Bill received a Bachelors Degree in Agronomy from The Ohio State University. He was a retired salesman from The France Stone Company and was a lifetime farmer; a steward of the land following his father's and grandfather's footsteps.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Ikard) Warfield on May 16, 2002; and a daughter, Deborah Ann Warfield on October 22, 1970.
Bill is survived by his chlidren, William (Linda) Warfield of Lafayette, Colorado, Cecelia (Terry) Toohey of Canonsburg, PA, and Daniel (Kathy) Warfield of Jerusalem; seven grandchildren, Emily (Spencer) Hellwig and Elizabeth Warfield, Eric (Abbey) Toohey, Adam (Annie) Toohey, Sean (Emily) Toohey, Bailey (Sara) Warfield, and Morganne (Josh) Wells; nine great-grandchildren; and his faithful companion, Squirt.
According to the families wishes, masks will be requested at visitation on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 11am until 1pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Private burial will take place on the family farm; Bill overlooking the hills and his passions.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the nurses at Barnesville Hospital, the nurses at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, to his Southeastern Homecare aides, Stonerise Hospice, and his girls, Bonnie, Connie, Peggy, Vickie, Patty, Christy, and Joyce.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill's memory to the Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library or the Somerton Church of Christ.
