Warren Mack Lallathin, 78, of Bethesda, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Emerald Pointe Nursing & Rehab under hospice care.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence "Pete" Lallathin and his mother Ellen "Irene" (McMullen) Lallathin; infant sister, Cindy; and brother, Robert Lallathin.
Warren is survived by his former wife, Delores (Courtright) Lallathin; his two daughters, Ruth (Curt) Morrow and Janet Lallathin. He also leaves behind two brothers, Larry (Sondra) Lallathin and Rick (Cindy) Lallathin; sister-in-law, Linda Lallathin; and several cousins, nieces & nephews. Warren loved being a grandfather to Natalie (Mike) Cottrill and Ross (Allison) Morrow and great-grandsons, Grant and Miles.
Warren was a lifelong supporter and encourager of Christian education. He was a loyal fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Warren lived his life surrounded by his friends from church and the community. Thank you to everyone for the visits, letters, cards, and phone calls that he received both on a daily basis during his life and especially those who reached out to him during his final illness.
He graduated from Barnesville High School in 1958 where he was known for being an excellent student and a champion wrestler. Warren loved being able to attend his 60th high school reunion last summer. He attended Freed Hardeman College in Henderson, Tennessee and later graduated from David Lipscomb College in Nashville, TN in 1963.
He was a minister for several Churches of Christ throughout his career. He preached his last sermon on January 27, 2019 at Bethesda Church of Christ. As a minister, Warren was honored to be included in the weddings and funerals of friends throughout the years.
In the 1960's, Warren worked at Ohio Valley College in the admissions department. Later Warren was a school teacher and bus driver. He is fondly remembered by the students that he taught at school, as well as the students he drove to school.
After a serious illness in 2000, Warren was given a second chance at life and loved living independently at Abby's Crossing. He was thankful to all who helped him stay there the last 18 years. Whether you brought him food, changed his light bulbs, shoveled snow, or repaired his furnace, he was grateful. He especially appreciated anyone who helped maintain his scooter. "Super Scooter" allowed him the freedom to ride to church or Epworth Park or to Wayne's house.
Warren and his family are thankful for the excellent care provided for him by Dr. Himalaya Patcha, Dr. Jondavid Pollock, Dr. Gurmeet Singh, Southeastern Homecare Services, Corner Pharmacy, Morristown Pharmacy, the doctors and staff at Barnesville, Wheeling, and Genesis Hospitals and Genesis and Guernsey Hospices. Thank you most of all to his Emerald Pointe family. He loved every one of you.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 10:00 am at Somerton Church of Christ, 55276 Washington Street, Somerton, Ohio. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
Donations may be made to Ohio Valley University in Parkersburg, WV or Hospice of Guernsey in Warren's memory. Warren would encourage everyone to be baptized, live a prayerful life and to enjoy the time they have with family and friends.
