Thomas Patrick Wheeler, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, 73, of Barnesville, Ohio passed into the arms of our Lord on October, 23rd 2023 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born in East Chicago, Indiana, on August 1, 1950 to the late Phyllis (O'Donnell) Wheeler and the late Harold Wheeler.
He graduated from Zane Trace High School in 1969. He was a truck driver by trade with over 4.5 million miles traveled across forty-eight states of our beautiful country. Tom enjoyed farming and hunting where he grew up as a boy and like his mother, planting flowers and vegetables was a great past time for him. When Tom was not at home on the weekends, many times you would find him spending time at his campsite, working on the houseboat, lending a hand with anyone who needed it, and getting some fishing time in. He was also a long time member of the Belmont Better Hunting & Fishing Club where he was their Club President and Trustee for several terms. After being baptized, Tom became a member of the First Christian Church of Barnesville.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Joy (O'Donnell) Wheeler and his father, Harold E. Wheeler.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Anita (Hague) Wheeler of 23 years; four daughters by his first marriage: Lisa (Scott) Callahan of Newnan, GA, Jennifer (Tim) Robinson of Quaker City, OH, Kristine (Chuck) Gregg of Quaker City, OH, Bobbie Jo (Chad) Durben of Cambridge, OH. Daughter Amber (Brandon) Wells of Quaker City, OH; and sons: Jeremy Leek of Piedmont, OH and Brandon (Madlyn) Leek of Barton OH, are from his wife, Anita. Tom has 23 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren with the 15th on the way; a sister, Carol Jean (Woody) Glosser of New Concord, OH; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 10:00am until the time of the service at 12:00pm with Pastor Ed Eberhart officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Burial will be located at the family farm near Fairview at 65635 Wagner Rd, Quaker City, Ohio.
