Shirley Ann Roe

Shirley Ann Roe, 92, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Emerald Pointe Health & Rehab in Barnesville. Shirley was born October 22, 1928, in Barnesville, a daughter of the late Lester "Pat" Roby and Laverna (Moose) Roby.

Shirley was a Christian, and a lifelong homemaker. Family was always her main focus; she was not only our mother, she was our best friend. We always looked forward to our visits with her and the way she kept us all on our toes. Our lives were all made better by the example Shirley set for us; kindness to all. Not to mention her compassion for her pets; there were many over the years that received the same love and attention that she shared with us. Mom we will miss you. Thank you for always being there for us.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, John Howard Roe; a grandson, Justin Phillips, a sister, Donna Jean Carpenter; and brothers, Ronald "Buddy" Roby and Gerald "Jerry" Roby.

Surviving are sons, Mike (Brenda) Roe of Barnesville, Drs. John "Pat" and Paulette Roe of Fair Oaks, California; daughters, Kathy (Joel) Roe of Bethesda, Lisa (John) Roe of Hinckley, Ohio and Susan (Luke) Johnson of Barnesville; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to caregivers Peggy Sykes and Martha Morehead for their care and compassion to Shirley.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family, with burial in Batesville Cemetery, Batesville, Ohio. Shirley's care is entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
