Sarah Elizabeth (Wehr) Smith

Sarah E. "Pudge" Smith, 94, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center with famiy by her side. She was born on December 18, 1927 in Calais, Ohio to the late Angus and Lillie (Stephens) Wehr.

Sarah was a graduate of Barnesville High School. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Morristown and a member of the Barnesville Senior Center. Along with spending time with her family she was an Ohio State Buckeye fan and planned her Saturdays around game day. She loved spending winters in Florida where she fished, boated, and went to yard sales. She enjoyed making homemade pancake syrup for her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids along with caramels and fudge for her family, in her later years she just stirred. She worked the crossword puzzles everyday in the paper. She loved watching her grandkids sporting events.

In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Carl Smith; five brothers, Ralph, Gilbert, Rodney, James, and Robert; two sisters, Beulah and Georgia; and son-in-law, Dennis K. Hunstman.

Sarah is survived by her children, Carla Hunstman and Michael (Amy) Smith; grandchildren, Amy (Scott) Jackson, Denise Stephens, Denny (Melissa) Huntsman, Aaron (Karen) Smith, Stephanie (Patrick Vitale) Yater, Krista (Jason Wells) Hatcher, Rachel (Rhonda Pettini) Sustik, and Michael (Tina) Hatcher; 17 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Stella Kalinowski; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 2pm with family friend, Roger Snodgrass officiating at Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville, Ohio. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Barnesville Senior Center.
