Sara M. Burkhart, 99, of Barnesville, Ohio passed Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at Barnesville Hospital. She was born on June 8, 1920, in Barnesville to the late Clyde and Grace E. (Bishop) Burkhart.
Sara was a 1938 graduate of Barnesville High School. She was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in Barnesville. She was a seamstress at Jonathan Logan before becoming a fulltime housewife. She loved to quilt and do word search puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Burkhart on May 20, 2001; and a brother, Bill Douglass.
Sara is survived by her two daughters, Sandy (Don Samples) Chambers of Barnesville and Margaret Burkhart of Clearwater, Florida; two grandsons, Todd (Cathy) Chambers of Pickerington and Brent (Beth) Chambers of Reynoldsburg; three great-grandchildren, Kyrsten (Adam) Chambers-Rossbach of Worthington Hills, Ryan Chambers of Reynoldsburg, and Zac Flewelling of the United States Navy stationed in Virginia; and many nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 21, 2019, from 5-8pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio where services will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019, at 11am with Rev. Jean Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville, Ohio.
