Ronald D. Toohey, 83, of Barnesville passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Southeastern Medical Center in Cambridge. Ron was born on August 1, 1938 in Barnesville to the late Clarence and Amy (Fulkerson) Toohey.
Ron was a Veteran of the United States Army and member of the Bethel Church. He was President of the Barnesville Senior Citizens Center. He loved to go dancing, golfing, and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Jean (Starr) Toohey; grandson, Craig Van Fossen; and sister, Ruth Ellen Starr.
Ron is survived by his daughters: Rhonda (John) Winzenreid, Cheryl VanFossen, Karen Toohey and Deborah (James Trevino) McMahon; 10 grandchildren: Shannon Elder, Jonathan Winzenreid, Mikayla Winzenreid, Carolyn (Danny Linninger) VanFossen, Cara (Michael) Norris, Ricky Farmer, Courtney (Eric Tyo) Toohey, Brittany Hempstead, Kelsey (Nate) Ramsey and Cameron (Shannon Malone) McMahon; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Norma Hannahs, Frances Watson and Mary Kay Leopard; several nieces and nephews; and girlfriend, Jane Hancher.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 11am until the time of the service at 2pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio. Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville, Ohio. Military honors will be conducted by the Belmont County Veteran's Association.
