Roger Dale Bunting, 88, of Beallsville, Ohio passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on November 29, 1932, in Morristown, Ohio to the late Elmer Bunting and Lela Davis Bunting
Roger was an avid farmer, NASCAR fan, and horseman. He was a coal miner by trade and worked as the mine foreman at Allison Coal Mine in Beallsville, Ohio. Roger also worked for MSHA as a federal mine inspector and retired from the State of Ohio Mine Rescue Team.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Wanda Jarrett Bunting, three daughters, Connie (Bob) Hull of Buckhannon, WV, Anita (Darrin) Straight of Belmont, Ohio, and Teresa (Kevin) Gallagher of Beallsville, Ohio. Grandchildren, Shannon Hull of Toronto, Ohio, Brandi (Don) Dulaney of Seabrook, Texas, Joshua (Patience) Kinney of Greensboro, North Carolina, AJ Thompson (Caity Moore) of Beallsville, Ohio, and Brianne Gallagher of Beallsville, Ohio. Roger was also so very proud of his six great-grandchildren; and siblings, Virginia Waggle, Sandra "Tiny" Reed, David Bunting, Judy Carpenter, Richard Bunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Randall and Charles "Tubby" Bunting, one sister, Patty Starr; and sons-in-law, Randy Kinney and Adam Thompson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 5-8pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestntut Street, Barnesville, Ohio where services will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 11am. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Bethesda, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Roger's memory to St. Judes Children's Hospital or Shriners Children's Hospital.
