Robert Guy Smith

Robert "Bob" Guy Smith, 83, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023, at his home. He was born on June 30, 1940, in Steubenville, Ohio to the late Frank and Margaret (Wickham) Smith.

He was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church, American Legion, and Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Barnesville Fire & EMS Department for 50 years in which he served 19 years as Fire Chief.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra "Sandy" Mae (McPherson) Smith on April 5, 2017

Bob is survived by a son, Rick (Susan) Smith of Valley Grove, West Virginia; daughter, Melissa (late Roger) High of London, Ohio; grandchildren, Ricky (Emily) Smith, Christa (Robbie) Klee, Josh (Tiffany) High, Morgan (Aaron) Leddy, and Kaitlyn Sand. He was a proud great-grandfather to 13 great grandchildren. Sister-in-law, Patty (Clayton) Christian, Polly (late John) Sawvel and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 12pm until 2pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Military honors will be conducted at 2pm by the Barnesville American Legion followed by Fire Department Services and a memorial service with Pastor Rodney West officiating. Burial will take place privately at Crestview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barnesville Fire & EMS Department and dropped off to the fire station.
