Robert Neuhart Harris, 99, of Barnesville passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Bob was born in Noble County on June 11, 1924 to the late Israel and Gertrude (Neuhart) Harris.
Bob was is a WWII Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a graduate of Batesville High School. Bob was a member of the First Christian Church in Barnesville where he served as Chairman of the Deacons for many years, and also as a Trustee. He worked at R&F Coal Company and later retired from Cravat Coal Company. He loved watching basketball especially watching March Madness. Bob and Jeanne volunteered for many years at Barnesville Hospital where they helped deliver Meals on Wheels.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Gibbons Harris; two sons: Jay Alan Harris and Monte Harris; daughter-in-law, Vicky Pfeffer Harris; and a sister, Mary Butler.
Bob is survived by his four grandchildren: Angie (Robert) Burkhart, Steven (Amber) Harris, Amy (Nick) Mecum and Mark (Lakshmi Kerr) Harris; two daughters-in-law, Ginny Harris and Nancy Harris; and several nieces and nephews.
Vistitation will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 1pm until the time of the service at 2pm with Pastor Ed Eberhart officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio. Military Honors will be conducted at the funeral home at 2pm by Belmont County Veteran's Association. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Crestview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob's name to the First Christian Church of Barnesville.
