Richard Marr Obituary

Richard E. Marr, 72, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on July 8, 1949 in Wheeling, WV to the late Walter and Helen Joan (Kubica) Marr.

Richard was a Catholic by faith and a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He was retired from Belmont County Health Department where he worked in maintenance.  Richard loved to ride motorcycles, playing golf with his friends at Horseshoe Bend, and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Ann (Romshak) Marr; second wife, Cathy R. (Hall) Marr; and two siblings: Thomas Marr and Walter "Butch" Marr.

Richard is survived by his son, Erin Michael (Missy) Marr of New Athens; two step-daughters: Angela (Michael) Freeman of Barnesville and Tawnya (Casey) Stephens of Salesville; six grandchildren: Dillon Freeman, Cole (Brianna) Briggs, Maddison (Tanner) Balik, Casey (Brittani) Stephens, Shane Michael (Courtney) Marr and Tiffany Stabile; five great-grandchildren: Lawson Bebout, Emilia Briggs, Finley Briggs, Andrew Balik and Layken Stabile; three siblings: Toni Korba, John (Melanie) Marr and Jim (Debbie) Marr; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 4-8pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.  The funeral will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 11am with Pastor Rodney West officiating.  Military honors will be held at Friends Cemetery in Quaker City, Ohio.
