Norma J. Matko, 69, of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020, at the family home in Barnesville. Norma was born on October 21, 1951, in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Martin J. and Dorothy L. (Nau) Schumacher, Sr.
Norma was retired from Wheeling Hospital as a registered nurse. She was a member of the Barnesville Assumption Church, Barnesville Rotary Club, and an Auxillary member of the American Legion #159. She helped with the summer lunch program and preparing funeral dinners for the church. She was best known for the Schumacher Pumpkin Patch. Norma was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was an angel on earth and now and angel in heaven.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas H. Schumacher; parents-in-law, Joseph and Helen Matko.
Norma is survived by her husband of 48 years Bud Matko; son, Justin (Cara) Matko; daughter, Thoue "Nichole" Bronowski; grandchildren, Jonah, Landan, Jacob, Ryan, and Michael; sister, Ann (Sonny) Miller; brothers, Martin (Terri) Schumacher and Ronald (Robin) Schumacher; sister-in-law, Tina Mahan; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020, from 3-6pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. A private Mass of Christian Burial for family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at 10am at Assumption of the B.V.M. Catholic Church, 306 West Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio 43713. A recording of Norma's services will be available to view at www.CampbellPlumlyMilburnFuneralHome.com or on the funeral home facebook page following the service. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Norma's name to the Barnesville Assumption Chuch.
