Mary Kay Cook, 86, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Monday, September 20, 2021 at Emerald Pointe. She was born on February 1, 1935 in Jerusalem, Ohio to the late Harold and Ruby (Bennett) Friday.
Mary Kay was an avid sports buff, she loved the Barnesville Shamrocks, Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Sitting on her front porch on West Church Street was one of her favorite things. She was an avid reader and played softball for Hunter's Texaco for years. She attended West Main Street Church of Christ. She was a friend to all and loved and cherished her family. Her greatest joys were watching her family play sports and grow.
In addition to her parents, Mary Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Cook on August 17, 2007; brother, Marvin Friday; infant sister, Donna Friday; brothers-in-law, James Callow and David Boughner; sister-in-law, Faye Smith.
Mary Kay is survived by her son David (Susan) Cook; daughter, Deanna (Daniel) Mackin; five grandchildren, Jessica (Jesse) Wershing, Ryan Cook, Julie (Wesley) Feldner, Katelyn (Brent) Dougan, Aaron (Annika) Burga; great-grandchildren, Alex and Katie Wershing, Rayland Cook, Grant and Landon Feldner, Quinn, Maren, and Brady Dougan; brother, Steven (Peggy) Friday; sisters, Sue Ann Callow, Nancy Moose, Beverly Friday, Rhonda Boughner; numerous nieces and nephews
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 3-7pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home 319 N. Chestnut Street Barnesville where services will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 11:00 am with Derrick Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.
