Martha Richert Debold, 95, of Piedmont, Ohio passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Emerald Pointe Health & Rehabilitation. She was born on May 1, 1928, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Anthony M. and Johanna (Schenker) Richert.
Martha was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania. As a young girl, Martha sold hotdogs at Forbe's Field then later worked as an operator for Bell Telephone and as a cook for Atrias in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania. She was head of the PTA at Lincoln Elementary School while her children were in school.
Growing up and raising a family in Mt. Lebanon, she relocated to Piedmont after falling in love with the area. She then became very active in the Catholic Church, preparing many luncheons after funerals. She had a love of gardening growing the best fresh tomatoes and asparagus. Having a creative mindset, she could do anything from crafts, sewing suits, cooking, home repairs, making sarsaparilla and root beer and taking care of anything around the home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Debold, Jr.; three brothers, Larry, Paul, and Phillip.
Martha is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Thomas Steininger) Debold of Frankfurt, Germany, Michael (Bonnie) Debold of Reno, Nevada, Amy (Gary) Galat of Sedona, Arizona; three grandchildren, Dolan Thomas Debold, Richard Dalton Debold, and Kendall Iris Gonzalez; and great-grandchild, Porter Steven Gonzalez.
In honoring Martha's wishes cremation will take place with no other services held at this time. Care is entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
