Lois Elaine Van Scyoc

Lois Elaine Van Scyoc, 88, of Barnesville, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, on May 14, 2023. She was born on June 20, 1934 in Belmont County to the late Helen Gertrude and Stanley Van Scyoc.

Lois was a 1952 graduate of Barnesville High School. She was owner and operator of the Green Cottage Restaurant for more than 30 years and took great pride in all her "wonderful employees". She was a longtime member of the Bethesda Christian Church, the Belmont County Historical Society and the Belmont County Animal Rescue League.

In addition to her parents, Lois was also preceded in death by her brother, Harold Van Scyoc; sister-in-law, Ann Sarkady Van Scyoc; her nephew, Thomas Van Sycoc; special friend, Bea Hanlon; and her beloved cat, Tucker.

Lois is survived by her nephew, Martin (Cindy) VanScyoc; niece, Debbie Howard; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and her very dear friend, Elaine Phillips.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 11:00am until the time of the service at 1:00pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio with Pastor Tim Snyder officiating and assisted by Pastor Ed Eberhart. Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville, Ohio.
