Kenneth Turner Obituary

Kenneth H. Turner, 85, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Astoria Place of Barnesville. He was born on February 11, 1933 in Barnesville, Ohio to the late Elmer Otto and Edna (Nicholes) Turner.

Kenny was a 1951 graduate of Barnesville High School. He was an Army Veteran following the Korean War Era. He was retired as a heavy equipment mechanic where he had worked for Ormet and R&F Coal Company. He also worked trimming trees for Karl Kuemmerling before and after his time in the service.

Kenny was a member of the Main Street Methodist Church in Barnesville. He was a 60 year member of the Friendship Lodge #89 F&AM, 60 year member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Aladdin Shrine, Seneca Sportsman Club, Cambidge Chapter 53 Guernsey Council #74, O.E.S. Barnesville Chapter #206, Zane Court #36 Order of Amaranth, and received the Grand Cross of Color from International Order of the Rainbow for Girls in 1975.

In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by a son, Darrell M. "Spanky" Turner on July 8, 2010; a brother, Roy M. Turner and Mansel K. Turner; and brothers-in-law, Ed Parsons and Carl Lendon.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Doris E. (Caldwell) Turner; a daughter, Sheila Turner of Barnesville, sisters, Sarah Parsons of Barnesville and Hazel (Bill) Davis of Beallsville; sisters-in-law, Faye Lendon of Malaga and June Turner of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 5-8 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio where services will be held on Friday, March 30, 2018 at 2 PM with Rev. Tom Detling officiating. A Masonic Service will be held on Thursday at 7:45 PM. Burial will follow services at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville where military honors will be given by Belmont County Veterans Association.
