Kathryn I. Chaney, 88, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Brighton Manor in Brighton, Michigan. Kay was born in St. Clairsville, Ohio on December 18, 1930 to the late Ervan L. and Loucinda (Starkey) Evans. Kay lived in St. Clairsville until she married her husband, William Chaney, in 1954. She and Bill lived in Barnesville until 2017 when she moved closer to family after the passing of her husband.
Kay's world was being a homemaker and wife to the love of her life, Bill, raising and caring for her two children, spending time with her wonderful circle of friends, volunteering, and traveling, She was a member of the Barnesville First United Methodist Church, Garden Club, Hospital Twig, Belmont Hills Country Club and many other ladies clubs throughout the Ohio Valley.
Kay enjoyed her many travels around the United States and multiple foreign destinations with family, friends, but most of all with Bill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William E. Chaney of Barnesville; and two brothers: Stan Evans and Denny Evans.
Kay is survived by her two children: Dan (Lisa) Chaney of Jasper, Georgia and Lynda (Paul Jackson) Chaney of Pinckney, Michigan; four grandchildren Zacharie Stephen, Andrew Stephen, Ashlee Chaney, and Travis Chaney; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 4-7 pm and Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 11 am until the time of the service at 1pm with Pastor Van Fisher officiating, and Paul Jackson giving the eulogy at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville, Ohio. A Luncheon will follow.
