Karen Mayberry Obituary

Karen Jo Mayberry, 73, of Barnesville, Ohio was surrounded by her loved ones at home as she was peacefully called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 8, 2023.

Born and raised in Barnesville, she excelled in school, she was a 1967 graduate of Barnesville High School and went on to attend Ohio University where she earned her Bachelor's in Education. Karen enjoyed a good book, watching reality tv, shopping until she dropped, Christmas, Seneca Lake, golf cart rides, and traveling in her camper. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mike and Mary "Toots" Swallie and Lester and Myrtle Huntsman; her father-in-law, Clinton Mayberry; sister-in-law, Bea Swallie; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Karen is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Gary; her two children, Ashley (Joe) Sellers and Josh (Rachel Atkinson) Mayberry both of Barnesville; her grandchildren, who were the light of her life, Caden, Jax, and Zellie Sellers and Oakley Mayberry; brother, Steven D. Swallie of Barnesville; sister, Vicki (Wes) Huntsman of Bethesda; sisters-in-law, Vickie (Cam) Hayes, Annette (Tim) Hall; mother-in-law, Zelma (Zellie) Mayberry; and several nieces, nephews, & cousins.
