Judith Lee Gibson, 78, of Barnesville passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the Ross Heart Hospital OSU. Judy was born on December 7, 1942 in Barnesville to the late Victor "Peck" Clayton and Myrtle Ellen (Wylie) Rowley.
Judy's pride and joy in life was being a doting mother and grandmother to all. She welcomed anyone who walked through the door with open arms. So many considered her as their "Grandma Judy". She was very active in the community over the years. She was a member of the Azalea Twig, The Homemakers Club, Barnesville VFD Auxiliary, the Depot Steering Committee, The Watt Center and card club. Judy volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She and Bill enjoyed traveling on the Elks bus trips for many years. She also enjoyed planning family camping trips, cookouts and any chance to sit around and catch up with family and friends.
As a child, Judy attended the Stillwater Meeting House with her family. She was a 1960 graduate of Barnesville High School and retired from Barnesville Hospital and the Barnesville Medical Center after many years.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her sisters: Vicki J. Ackerman and Joyce Brownfield; and an infant brother and sister.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, William "Bill" Gibson; children: Michael (Lauri) Gibson, Kay Mankin, Krista (Bink) Littleton and Mark (Brandi) Gibson; grandchildren: Hillary, Ben, Dirk, Kyle, Breanna, Bradlee and Autumn; step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Lois (Tom) Hart; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Connie and Tate.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 3-7pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 1pm with Jeff Wise officiating. Private family burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Ebenezer Cemetery.
