John E Watson

John E. Watson, 86, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family and dog, Sonny. He was born on October 29, 1937 to the late Gladys U. Watson.

John was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temperanceville.  He was retired from Consolidated Coal Company where he was a welder for over 30 years.

In addition to his mother, John was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Catherine Ann Watson on August 19, 2019; two infant children, Danny Joe and Jeffrey Dane; sister, Ruth Milhoan; and daughter-in-law, Lori Watson.
 
John is survived by his son, John David Watson of Barnesville; two grandchildren, Joshua (Amanda) Watson and Melissa (David) Mazgaj; six great-grandchildren, Brooke and Parker Watson, and Emma, Zack, Luke, and Joel Mazgaj; sister, Rosemary Boyd; and half-sister, Tracey (Lloyd) Gubert.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 6pm until the time of the Vigil Service at 7:45pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 10am at St. Mary's Church in Temperanceville, Ohio.  Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's name to St. Mary's Church in Temperanceville.
