John Allen Thompson

John Allen Thompson, 85, of Senecaville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020 in Zanesville, Ohio. John was born on February 5, 1935 in Hunkadori near Caldwell, Ohio to the late Paul M. and Jessie L. (Woodford) Thompson.

John was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Barnesville and graduated from Barnesville High School in 1953. John was a self-employed truck driver. John was a member of the Seneca Sportsman Club and the NRA. He loved to hunt, fish, and watch sports especially Ohio State. He also enjoyed playing cards, his guitar and singing.  He loved spending time with his wife, children and grand-daughters.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Jo Thompson; and a sister, Martha Brown.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Carol (Kerstetter) Thompson; two daughters: Vicki (Greg) Hagan of Jerusalem and Valerie (Garry) Berisford of Senecaville; three grandchildren: Tiffani (Mike) Nichols, Breanna Hagan and Whitney Hagan; three great-grandchildren: Peyton, Rylee and Memphis Nichols; and several nieces and nephews.

A private visitation and service will be held at the convenience of the family.  A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 3pm at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville.  Arrangements entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.
