Obituary
JoAnn Merritt, 86 of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Emerald Pointe. She was born on August 10, 1936 in Barnesville to the late James Herbert and Emma "Jane" (Conway) Howell.
JoAnn was a 1954 graduate of Barnesville High School. She was employed as a registered nurse at Barnesville Hospital prior to furthing her education and becoming a nurse practitioner and working for Ohio Hills Health Services where she retired in 2013. Joann was a member of the Somerton United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband Charles William Merritt; son, Randy Merritt; grandson Connor Merritt; brother, Jerry Howell and Jack Howell; and sister, Janis Howell.
JoAnn is survived by her children, Jack Merritt, Kimberly Merritt and Todd (Sandy) Merritt; grandchildren, Douglas (Debra) Groh, Rana (T.R.) Hayford, Rachel (Gray) Kelly, Jason Merritt; great-grandchildren, Trenton Groh, Dalton Groh, Cameron Groh, Kolton Groh, Kayson Groh, Kristopher Groh, Bethanie Groh, Carter Kelly, and Annabelle Kelly; and sister-in-law, Suellen Howell.
Honoring JoAnn's wishes, cremation will take place with no additional services held at this time. JoAnn's care is entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
