Jerry Pitner Obituary

Jerry Lane Pitner, 72, of Barnesville passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020 in his home, surrounded by his family. Jerry was born on August 26,1948 in Chicago to the late Andrew Steve and Sylvia Blanche (Krousl) Pitner Sr.

After graduation in 1966 from Barnesville High School, Jerry spent 14 years working for Consol Energy. He then continued his education at West Virginia Northern Community College, earning a degree in respiratory therapy. He worked for Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville as a respiratory therapist up until his retirement. He then continued to work part time at Barnesville Hospital.

Jerrry was a member of East Richland Evangelical Friends Church. He loved Jesus and believed that a personal relationship with Christ was life saving. He is now in glory with the Lord and all those who had gone before him, and looked forward to each reunion.

In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his brothers: William "Billy" Pitner, Dennis (Rose) Pitner of Massachusetts and Andrew S. "Andy" Pitner, Jr.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Elena Pitner; daughter: Holly (Oscar) Olsen of Fairview; step-daughter: Veronika (George) Woosley of Columbus; step-son: Jason Games of St. Clairsville; granddaughter, Katie Games; two brothers: Bob (Tina) Pitner of Flushing and his twin brother, Larry (Cindy) Pitner of Salem; two sisters: Ramona Wilson of Barnesville and Cynthia (Tom) Evans of Barnesville; and numerous nieces and nephews along with his beloved dog Gunny.

Jerry was well known & loved for his gift of singing. Beginning in High School he belonged to a band called Scepters with his twin brother Larry. Later he performed with the band Horizon with close friends and cousins. He was invited to sing at churchs, weddings, funerals, with his favorite and most memorable gig being the yearly Barnesville Pumpkin Festival Parade using his own personal karaoke machine.

He lived in his childhood home that was established in 1957. His family was the most important part of his life and he worked hard to provide for them and keep the Pitner farm in the family.

Jerry and his twin Larry spent hours in the garage working on cars for themselves and others. His Pride and joy was restoring his1969 Biscayne and proudly showing it off at the 2019 Barnesville Pumpkin Festival Car Show.

He loved his country and believed voting was a privledge and responsiblity of all citizens. He was a huge Donald Trump supporter and was looking forward to casting his vote. So cast your vote for Donald Trump in his memory since he missed his opportunity.

Jerry was an honarable man, who would do anything for those he loved, or someone in need. HIs presence will be greatly missed by his famiy and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 3 until the time of the service at 5pm at East Richland Evangelical Friends Church in St. Clairsville, Ohio. Arrangements entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.
