Helen J. Hibbs, 86, of Barnesville passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Southeastern Medical Center in Cambridge, Ohio. Helen was born on October 5, 1935 in Flushing Hospital in Flushing, Ohio to the late Gladys (Bainard) Baker Murphy and Joseph Humphrey.
Helen was a member of Sewellsville Methodist Church. Along with raising her daughters, she spent much of her life taking care of the elderly and was affectionately know as Nanny to the kids she babysat. She loved baking, coloring, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Willie Nelson.
In addition to her parents, Helen has been reunited with the love of her life, James E. Hibbs who passed away on June 28, 2019; her grandparents that raised her, Cecil and Lillian Baker; brother, John Murphy; special cousin, Patty Sue Wees; and niece, Johnna Murphy.
Helen is survived by her two daughters: Mary Lou (Dale) Sudduth of Fairview and Melinda (Greg) Kemp of Belmont; grandchildren: Michelle (Jon) Toohey of Barnesville, Melissa Massey of Florida, Mindy Yoder of Fairview, Josh (Whitney) Kemp of Belmont and Jared (Jenny) Kemp of Belmont; great-grandchildren: Allison, Caitlyn, Kayla, Amanda, Paige and Graham; great-great-granddaughter Natalie and a new baby great-great granddaughter due in March; two sisters: Waneta Woodard of Georgia and Donna Jean Pryor of Barnesville; and nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Oak Grove Cemetery in Piedmont, Ohio. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Helen's name to United Ambulance of Cambridge, Fairview VFD and Belmont County Senior Services Meals.
