Genevieve Louella (Lucas) Armstrong

Genevieve L. Armstrong, 101, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Emerald Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation. She was born on April 20, 1918, in Bethesda, Ohio to the late Delbert V. Lucas and Edna (Travis) Lucas.

Genevieve loved Bingo and was an avid bowler until she was in her 80's. She loved to fish and was a huge fan of Elvis and her Barnesville Shamrocks. She was a member of the Somerton United Methodist Church and Cypress Twig. She attended Bethesda School where she loved to play basketball.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard "Lefty" Armstrong on July 20, 2003; two sons, James Dale and John Leonard; great-grandson, Bryce Horn; sisters, Vava Martin, Vandalia Oxley, Violet Perkins, Faye Kuthy, and Regina Lucas; brothers, Frank, John, Dexter, Lawrence "Bub", Dallas, Joe and Darrell "Dee" Lucas.

Genevieve is survived by her four children, Clarence "Del" (Blanche) Armstrong of New Philadelphia, Ruth Ann (late husband, Henry) Murphy of Barnesville, Jane Marie (Bill) Sullivan of Barnesville, Pat (Roy) Clark of Somerton; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Treva Lucas of Greenville, Ohio and Mary Lucas of Bethesda; and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, from 4-8pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio where services will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at 11am with Pastor Dale Warrick officiating. Burial will follow at Bethesda Methodist Cemetery in Bethesda, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Genevieve's memory to the Activity Department at Emerald Pointe Nursing & Rehab, 100 Michelli Street, Barnesville, Ohio 43713.
