Gary L. Hannahs, 80, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021, surrounded by family at his home. He was born on August 25, 1940, in Monroe County to the late Harold E. and Hazel G. (Carpenter) Hannahs.
Gary served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He was a retired operator and surveyor for the Operating Engineers Local #18 in Akron. He was a member of the Barnesville American Legion. He enjoyed going to ballgames, golfing, and playing cards. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Joseph Allen Hannahs, an infant sister, Elizabeth Hannahs; and brother, Dale Hannahs.
Gary is survived by his wife, Judie (Holland) Hannahs; three sons, Todd (Christine) Hannahs of Irwin, Pennsylvania, Timothy Hannahs of Jacobsburg, and Toby (Loretta) Hannahs of Barnesville; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, Sydney, Tim, Shelby, Allison, and Haleigh; two great-grandchildren, Roselyne Anderson and Lena Little; siblings, Donna Moore of Barnesville, Jean Easton of Tipp City, Ohio, Betsy (John) Smith of Proctorville, Ohio, and Lester (Juanita) Hannahs of Hubert, North Carolina; several nieces & nephews; and his faithful friend Annie.
There will be a graveside service held on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 1:00pm at Holly Memorials Gardens in Colerain, Ohio with Pastor Rodney West officiating with Military Honors given by the Barnesville American Legion Post #168. Care is entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
