Frederick (Fred) Larry Peters, 81, passed away on March 17, 2021 at Wheeling Hospital. Frederick was born to the late William J. and Polly J. (Jefferies) Peters on June 23, 1939 in Barnesville, Ohio.
He served in the United Stated Army from 1958-1961. He had a life-long love of standard bred harness horse racing working as an owner and trainer for many years. He retired from Purolator Courier and then from Barnesville School district as a bus driver. In his younger years Fred loved coon and rabbit hunting and playing softball. He greatly enjoyed watching harness horse racing on TV and visiting with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Judith Peters.
Fred is survived by his brother, Jay Peters of Columbus; his sons: Barry (Judy) Peters of Quaker City and Daniel (Julie) Peters of Barnesville; granddaughter Lindsey (Steve) Brown of Barnesville; and great-grandson Connor Brown.
Per Fred's wishes, there will be only a graveside service held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 2pm at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville. Military honors will be given by the Belmont County Veteran's Association. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.
