Dorothy B. Stephens, 80, of Sewellsville passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at her home. Dorothy was born on December 25, 1940 in Barnesville to the late Neil Thomas and Elizabeth Mae (Davis) VanScyoc.
Dorothy was a 1958 graduate of Barnesville High School and a member of the Sewellsville United Methodist Church. She was a member of BAMA and Sewellsville United Methodist Women. Dorothy was well known in her community for her fruit cake business which she started in 1966, it's estimated that she sold two tons!
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her step-mother, Hilda VanScyoc; infant brother, Jerry; sisters: Carolyn June Stephens and Pauline Shepherd; and step-sister, Marilyn Rigas.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Marvin Stephens; daughter, Sharla (Ted) Stephens-Everman of Hilliard; two grandsons: Quentin Everman and Jackson (Cheray) Lillard-Everman; two sisters: Betty Winters of Port Richey, FL and Lucille Timms of Meridian, MS; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 1pm at Sewellsville Cemetery with Rev. Tom Detling and Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.
