Charles Phillips, 101, of Mineral City, Ohio passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born on April 24, 1920 in Barnesville to the late Oscar and Helen G. (Gibson) Phillips.
Charles is a 1938 graduate of Barnesville High School and he was a former member of the Barnesville First United Methodist Church. He was a livestock dealer, a land manager for Hanna-Consol Coal Company and R & F Coal Company before retiring as a manager for Robert Feagane Management Company. Charles was a member of the Model A Car Club of New Philidelphia Ohio.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Irene (Detling) Phillips on September 10, 2006; grandchildren: Brian Robert Parkinson and John Timothy Parkinson, II; and son-in-law, Tim Parkinson.
Charles is survived by his children: Charles Jay (Kay) Phillips, Marcia Parkinson and David Eric Phillips; grandchildren: Eric (Diane) Phillips, Tom (Julie) Phillips, Brent (Angie) Phillips, Laura Ann Parkinson, Kristin (David) Fahey and Heather Nichole Phillips-Michael; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 1pm at Somerton Southern Cemetery in Somerton, Ohio with Pastor Rodney West officiating. Care is entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
