Arlene (Grimes) Watson

Arlene finished her journey here on March 24, 2021 to join her husband and family members who have gone before.

She was one of eleven children born to Charles Grimes and Wilma Louise {Hayes} Grimes. Surviving in that family are brothers Gary E. (Beverly) Grimes, Kenneth R. and Stephen L.; sisters Sherry A. White, Vicky L. (Rick) Schnacke and Linda K. Wolff. They grew up in a small town in southern Ohio and had a wonderful fun time. She loved to laugh and keep things simple, like stained glass, flowers and euchre.

She attended a one-room school house for the first eight grades, graduated Bliss Business College and came home to work for the Prosecuting Attorney of Guernsey County. Arlene then met the love of her life, Raymond E. Watson, married and moved to Akron. She became the second female officer of the Goodyear Bank and furthered her career, becoming Vice President Senior Manager at one of the largest banks around, retiring after 30 years of service.

She will tell you she and Ray were blessed with sons Randy (Kelly) and Ron (Ann) Watson and daughter Moni (Mark) Peterson. Out of these unions came five grandchildren: Tylor, Erika and Anna Peterson, Grace and Ella Watson, and two great-grandchildren Emery Peterson and Travis Herrmann. Many nieces, nephews and friends were always welcomed and loved.

So she goes to join her husband of 53 years, Raymond E. Watson, parents Charles and Wilma Grimes, brothers Dave (Nancy) Grimes, John Grimes, Stanley (Sharlene) Grimes and sister Shirley (Virgil) Miller.

Friends and family are welcome to visit on Thursday, April 1 at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N Chestnut St, Barnesville, OH 43713 from 12:00 until the start of the 1:00 p.m. service. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, OH.

Arlene's care has been entrusted to Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio in conjunction with Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
