William "Bill" Lewis Stottler, 83, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 at Sandpiper Courtyard Assisted Living Center in Mt. Pleasant, SC. He was born on March 25, 1933 in Barnesville to the late John and Mary Bernadine (Poyet) Stottler.
Bill was a United States Army Veteran, stationed in Japan. He was retired from employment at National Cash Register in Cambridge, OH; Smith Lumber Company in Barnesville. Bill was a member of the Main Street Methodist Church in and was a past member of the Barnesville Village Council.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years on September 13, 2016, Virginia Kathleen "Kathy" (Giesey) Stottler; and brother, Carl Stottler.
He is survived by his son and only child, Jeff (Susan) Stottler of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two granddaughters, Sara and Kristin both of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three sisters, Ruth (Patrick) Sullivan of Charlottesville, VA, Rosalie (Bernard) Clark of Barnesville, and Barbara (Gene, deceased) Carpenter of Barnesville, and brother, Francis (Lona, deceased) Stottler of Kendallville, IN, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Astoria Place for their care of Bill in Barnesville. In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to the Hydrocephalus Association (http://www.hydroassoc.org/ways-to-give/) in Bill's memory.
A service for both Bill and Kathy will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
