Wilbur C. (Bill) Thompson of Akron died on Sunday March 10th 2013. Wilbur was the son of the late Paul and Dortha Thompson. He was employed for 43 1/2 years with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Born in Akron, Wilbur moved to Barnesville, Ohio, with his parents during the Depression. He attended Barnesville High School and was a proud member of the "Depression Kids" class of 1941.

Wilbur was preceded in death by his wonderful wife of 52 years, Macel (Watson of New Philadelphia, Ohio); he is survived by sons, Paul (Barbara), Craig (Nancy) and their children, Emmitt and Natalie; daughter, Laura Ladwig and her daughter Sydney Ladwig.

He was proud of his 43 1/2 years with Goodyear and after spending grade school years in Akron, Wilbur was very proud he got to Barnesville High School. Upon graduation, he served for 3 1/2 years as a member of the Air Corp. in World War II.

Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday (3/16/2013) at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St, Barnesville, OH with Rev. Tom Detling officiating.

Burial at Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville, Ohio.
