Walter Charles Reischman, 95, Barnesville, OH, died Thursday, February 17, 2011, at Barnesville Hospital. He was born January 23, 1916 , near Barnesville, son of the late Charles A. and Ruth Fitch Reischman. Walter graduated from Quaker City High School in 1934 where he often rode his horse to school. He was employed as a furniture salesman for 62 years. He worked for Kirk's and Householder's Furniture stores in Barnesville, retiring in 1998. He served with the US Navy in World War II at the US Naval Hospital, Great Lakes, IL. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Barnesville, Seneca Sportsmen's Club, and had a life long love of horses. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by brothers, Leo (Caroline) Reischman, Chester (Jeanette) Reischman, Bernard (Marie) Reischman, Paul Reischman, and a sister, Mary Ellen (Al) Vandercamp. He is survived by his loving wife, Pearl, whom he married on May 28th, 1940. Other survivors include sons, C. Richard (Joan) Reischman of St. Clairsville, OH, and P. Thomas (Rita) Reischman of Lambertville, NJ; 3 grandchildren, Garrick (Jennifer) Reischman of Columbus, OH, Ryan (Angela) Reischman of Newark, OH, and Catherine Reischman of Lambertville, NJ; 3 great grandchildren , Paige Aldrich of Columbus, OH, Haleigh and Hayden Reischman of Newark, OH; a sister, Martha (John) Kerns of Peoria, AZ; a brother, Harold (Nancy) Reischman of Akron, OH, sister-in-law, Betty Jean Reischman of Matthews, NC; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family and friends will be received Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, OH, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday with Monsieur Mark Froehlich officiating. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Temperanceville, OH. Wake Service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Church of the Assumption, Barnesville, OH, Barnesville Hospital or Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library.
