Tammy Renae Smith, 58, of Moundsville, West Virginia, formerly of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026 at the Moundsville Healthcare Center. She was born in Petersburg, West Virginia on October 31, 1967 to the late Hugh M. and Betty Jean (Sites).Smith Jr.
Tammy attended St. Clairsville High School and graduated from Bellaire High School. She was a past member of the First Baptist Church in St. Clairsville, Ohio. Prior to her initial illness, she worked as a CNA. She was a member of Courageous Hearts LLC and walked her journey with encouragement, resilience, and empowerment to others. She proudly earned seven "Way of Life" Certificates and was awarded Student of the Month honors for her diligence and dedication to her studies. Purple was her favorite color and she was passionate about completing her Christian Healing of Coloring pages with Bible Verses. She loved caring for and spoiling her babies (three cats); King Charles, Eddy Teddy, and Li'l Charles.
In addition to her biological parents, Tammy was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Allen Smith; grandparents Alphonso and Helen Haynesworth and Sherman and Irene Lyons of St. Clairsville; and husband, Terry Louis (Blue) Smith of Steubenville, Ohio.
Tammy is survived by her three sons, Terry Louis (Toni) Smith II, of Moundsville, West Virginia, Troy Lamar Smith, of Moundsville, West Virginia and Ty Michael (Kellie) Thornton, of Bridgeport, Ohio; nine grandchildren who she loved dearly; her adoptive parents, Robert Louis and Adrie Ann Lyons, of Port St. Lucie, Florida; brothers, Timothy Wayne (Trista) Smith, of Chillicothe, Ohio, Robert Louis (Denise) Lyons, of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Ryan LaMont (Bobbie) Lyons, of Elk River, Minnesota; Randall Lee Lyons, of Columbus, Ohio; a Bonus sister, Melissa Caldwell, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and several Aunts, Uncles, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Honoring Tammy's wishes, no services will be held. Her care has been entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Tammy's memory to Liza's Place, Wheeling, West Virginia or the American Cancer Society.
