Shirley J. "Schultz" McFarland, 78, formerly of Bethesda, OH, passed away peacefully, May 9, 2013, at Emerald Pointe in the presence of those she loved. She was born October 30, 1934 in Bethesda, OH, daughter of the late Merle and Genevieve Early Schultz. She was a retired employee of Barnesville Hospital and a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Steve Bolon. She is survived by 3 sons Kim (Donna) McFarland of Barnesville, Kevin (Debby) McFarland of Centerville, and Toby (Susan) McFarland of Bethesda: sister Donna Sue (Bob) Blaney of Bethesda; 2 brothers Bob Schultz and Terry (Edie) Schultz of Bethesda; grandchildren Jason McFarland, Joshua (Melissa) McFarland, Molly (Larry) Daniels, Brandon (Elissa) McFarland, Maureen McFarland, Jeff (Jessica) McFarland and Aaron (Angela) McFarland; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends and faithful caregiver and companion Frank Brock of Bethesda.
In a selfless and loving gesture, it was Shirley's wish to donate her body to The Ohio State University for medical research. There will be no visitation. There will be a memorial service at the convenience of her family.
Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St, Barnesville, Oh is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Shirley to charity of choice.
