Sarajane Elaine Briggs, 92, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at her home. She was born on April 20, 1924 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late James and Elizabeth (Williams) Conway.

Sarajane graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in education. She later further her education and did graduate work at the University of Pittsburgh and West Virginia State University. Sarajane was a teacher at Portsmouth, Youngstown, Quaker City, Old Washington and retired from Barnesville Schools.

Sarajane was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville where she also attended the Young Adult Sunday School Class, a 50 year member of the Sewing Club, Quilting Club, Mothers Club, Questors, and Library Board.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Dr. Wilbert L. Briggs on December 29, 1999 and a brother, James Conway.

She is survived by a son, David Briggs of Barnesville; daughter, Ruthann (Paul) Lipsitz of Grosse Pointe Farms, MI; 3 grandchildren, Briggs Lipsitz of Portland, Oregon, Ian Lipsitz of Colorado Springs, and Conrad Lipsitz of Chicago; siblings, Marilyn Ebbert, David (Joanne) Conway, and Robert (Shirley) Conway; brother-in-law, Gene (Marian) Briggs; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, & great nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 1-4 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio where services will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 11 AM with Rev. Ted Buehl officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville, Ohio.
