Sarah M. Parsons, 86, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia. She was born on May 31, 1939, in Barnesville, Ohio to the late Elmer Otto and Edna (Nicholes) Turner.
Sarah was a faithful and devoted member of the Main Street United Methodist Church, where her kindness and warm spirit were known by many. In September 1963, she began her banking career with The First National Bank of Barnesville. After 36 years of dedicated service to The First National Bank of Barnesville and later WesBanco, Sarah retired in March 2000, leaving behind a lasting legacy of commitment and care within the community.
In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Parsons on July 22, 2007; and brothers Roy M. Turner, Kenneth H. Turner and Mansel K. Turner.
Sarah is survived by her son, Timothy S. (Marie) Parsons of Herndon, Virginia; daughter, Tracy D. Logan of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Sylvia Marie Parsons Roche, Sarah Michelle Parsons, Shelby Marlene Parsons, Sean Michael Logan, and Meagan Suzanne Hartley; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Hazel M. (Bill) Davis; sisters-in-law, Doris Turner and June Turner; and several nieces & nephews.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Friends Cemetery in Quaker City, Ohio. Sarah's care has been entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sarah's memory to the Main Street United Methodist Church Repair Fund, 230 West Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio 43713; National Kidney Foundation of Indiana, 911 E 86th St Ste 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240; or Riley Children's Hospital, 705 Riley Hospital Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46202. Medical donations are in honor of her grandson, Sean Michael Logan.
