Ruth E. Orr, 85, of Barnesville passed away Monday, October 13, 2014 at Emerald Point Nursing and Rehab Center.  She was born on April 7, 1929 in Shirley, WV to the late Clarence E. and Mary Mabel (Gatrell) Orr.

Ruth retired from GC Murphy as assistant manager after working there 45 years.  She was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in Barnesville where she was the Sunday School Superintendent of the Primary Department for many years.  She was member of OES #201 where she served as secretary for 18 years and was Worthy Matron in 1962 and 1982.  She was a member of the Mistletoe Twig, Tuesday Noon Club, a volunteer at the Barnesville Hospital, and Past President of Barnesville Hospital Branch.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother - Robert F. "Bud" Orr; and sister-in-law - Rita Carol Orr.

She is survived by 3 nieces - Rebecca (Steve) Westgerdes, Robyn (Alan) Turner and Amy Pryor; nephew - Michael (Beth) Orr; great-nephew - Chad (Kelly) Turner; great-nieces - Megan (Tony) Harting and Elizabeth (Joey) Pryor; great-great-nieces - Taylin Pryor, Kinzley Jozwiak, and Avery Turner; great-great-nephew - Dalton Turner and Tucker Harting.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio where services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11 AM with Pastor Richard Cox officiating. OES #206 Barnesville will conduct services on Friday at 6 PM. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens in Colerain, Ohio.
