Ruth F. Wood, 101, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022, at her home. She was born on September 15, 1920, in Quaker City to the late Ora A. and Edith (Carter) Floyd. Ruth was a graduate of Quaker City High School and attended a year of Cambridge Business School. She was bookkeeper for Hartleys Hardware in Quaker City for 31 years and Ray & Associates of Barnesville for 10 years. Later she did bookkeeping for some clients at her home for several years. Ruth was a a member of the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville, 50 year member Barnesville Chapter #206 of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Cedar Twig. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, George T. Wood on June 28, 1997; a brother, J. Carter Floyd; and one niece, Genelda Duffey She is survived a few cousins and two nieces, Glenda W. Higele and Ginger Chilcote; very loving caregiver, Becky Brown; and a special longtime friend. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 11am until the time of the service at 1pm with Pastor Van Fisher officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth's memory to the First United Methodist Church, Barnesville Hospital, or the Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library.
