Russell A. Ball, 91, of Barnesville died Friday 3/8/2013 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab. He was born on 11/07/1921 in Barnesville to the late Aubrey F. and Dorothy P. (Durnal) Ball.
Russell was retired as a rural mail carrier and from WesBanco. He was a member of the Main Street Methodist Church, BPOE 1699, the American Legion Post 128 and a past member of the Friendship Lodge #89 F&AM. He was an Army Veteran of WWII.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys M. (Hall) Ball; brother, James D. Ball; and sister, Hattie E. (Ball) McLain.
He is survived by his daughter, Martha (David) Ralston of Barnesville; 5 grandchildren: Catherine (Robert) Livingston of St. Clairsville, Amanda (Wes) Brown of Barnesville, Rusty Wilcox of Woodsfied, Benjamin (Cinnamon) Ralston of Ft. Lewis McCord, WA, and Christina (Josh) Stephen of Barnesville; 8 great-grandchildren: Brandon and Kara Brown, Tate and Bane Stephen, Alli Wilcox, and Shaunell, Halle and Ben Ralston; 2 step-great-grandchildren: Orion and Jordon Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, 3/10/2013 from 4-8pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville. The service will be held on Monday, 3/11/2013 at 11am at the Main Street Methodist Church with Pastor Richard Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hendrysburg, Ohio. The American Legion Belmont County Council will conduct military services at 10:45am.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Belmont Co. Animal Rescue League or Barnesvile Hospital Emergency Room Renovation Fund.
