Ronald A. Bischof, 64, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Barnesville Health Care Center. He was born on January 21, 1950 in Wheeling, West Virginia to Ruth (Bonenberger) Bischof and the late Alfred Bischof.
Mr. Bischof was the current Mayor of Barnesville, former Barnesville Councilman, and owner of Bischof Insurance. He was active in numerous civic and charitable organizations, including past Lt. Governor for Ohio Kiwanis International Club, a board member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters, member of the Short Circuit Club, BPOE 1699, and Knights of Columbus. He was a graduate of West Liberty State College and a member of the Delta Signa Pi Business Fraternity. He was a Catholic by faith and a member of the Assumption Church.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a grandson - Isaac; and great-granddaughter - Annabell.
Ron is survived by his wife - Nancy Bischof of Barnesville; mother - Ruth Bischof of St. Clairsville; sons - Keith Bischof of Wheeling and Kevin Bischof of DeLand, Florida; step-daughters - Angela Laxton of Barnesville and Debbie (Doug) Parker of Wheeling; brothers - Art (Judy) Bischof of Wheeling and Jerry (June) Bischof of Wheeling; sister - Kathleen (Ron) Butler of Manchester, New Hampshire; grandchildren - Cody, Lucas, Anastasia, Nicholas, Tanner, and Alexandria; great-grandchildren - Brody, Lillie, and Jacie; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Assumption Catholic Church, 306 West Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 4 until the time of the service at 6 PM with Father Dave Cornett officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. A fellowship dinner in honor of Mayor Ron Bischof will be held immediately following the service.
