Robert William "Tate" Taylor, 77, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at his home. He was born on May 28, 1945, in Barnesville to the late Vernon "Woody" and Hilda (Burkhardt) Taylor.
Tate was a 1963 graduate of Barnesville High School and obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Ohio Dominican University. He was a member of the Assumption of the B.V.M. Catholic Church in Barnesville and a lifetime member of the Barnesville Elks BPOE 1699. He was a retired social worker from the Belmont County Board of MRDD and Belco Crafts.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Murphy and brother-in-law, John; niece, Johnna Murphy; and a grandson, Preston Taylor.
Tate is survived by his wife of 25 years, Connie (McEndree) Taylor; four children, Matt (Kelli) Taylor of Bethesda and Phillip (Genn Coles) Taylor of Barnesville, Michelle (Randy Holskey) Pepper of Lore City and Robert (Angie) Burkhart of Quaker City; six grandchildren, Jessica (Brandon) Loudin, Todd Burkhart, Logan (Stefanie) Pepper, Andrew Taylor, Olivia Taylor, and Haleigh Taylor; six great-grandchildren, Peyton, Paizlie, and Paxtyn Loudin and Blayne, Barryn, and Baylor Pepper; nephew, Danny DeVille; nieces, Amy Tucker and Amy (Dwayne) Romine; and several great-nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 4pm until 7:30pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. An Elks Service will follow visitation at 7:30pm followed by a Vigil Service at 7:45pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 10am with Fr. Dave Cornett officiating at the Assumption of the B.V.M. Catholic Church, 306 West Main Street, Barnesville. Burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery in Barnesville.
