Richard Ray Shepherd, 85, of Sewellsville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.  Richard was born in Guernsey County, Ohio on August 1, 1936 to the late Milford Shepherd and Mildred (Gray) Hennis.

Richard is a Veteran of the United States Army.  He was a member of the Sewellsville United Methodist Church and a 1954 graduate of Barnesville High School.  Richard was retired from Superior Clay Tile Works.  He and his wife, Pauline, also owned and operated the general store in Sewellsville.

In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Pauline G. (VanScyoc) Shepherd on May 28, 2020; infant daughter, Judith Ann; sister, Alberta Sue Bunfill;  and brother, Leroy Shepherd.

Richard is survived by brothers-in-law, Mancel "Dougie" Bunfill and Marvin Stephens; sister-in-law, Betty Winters; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 4-7pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio. The service will be at 11am on Friday, September 10, 2021 with Rev. Tom Detling and Rev. Steve Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Sewellsville Cemetery.  Military honors will be conducted by Guernsey County Veterans Council.
