Richard D. "Hank" Butler, 72, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Liza's Place in Wheeling. He was born on June 30, 1942 in Temperanceville, Ohio to the late Bernard P. and Freda M. (Deal) Butler.
He was retired from Y&O Coal Company and was a member of the Shady Lane Baptist Church. He was an avid musician, performing lead vocals and playing the guitar in his own country music band for over 20 years. He also performed in numerous other country bands throughout his adult life. His favorite musician was Hank Williams.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother - Delbert Butler.
Mr. Butler is survived by his wife - Shirley (Dyer) Butler of Barnesville; 3 sons - Wayne Butler, Fred Butler, and Dean Butler; step-children - Vicki (Ed) Magers, Brenda (Bill) Hudson, Beth (Mike Edwards) Grear, Julie (Paul) Felton, Stacey (Mike) Frollini, and Jeff Grear; 6 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren; sisters - Mary Clark, Geraldine Clark, and Eleanor Crawford; and brother - Danny Butler.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 from 4-8 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio where services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Bethesda, Ohio.
